Book
Three: The Remembrance Trilogy
By: Kahlen Aymes
Blurb
Married and settled
in New York City, Ryan and Julia Matthews seek to start their family and enjoy
their idyllic newlywed life together. Julia’s high-profile job at Vogue and
Ryan’s promising career in medicine will surely set them up for everything they
could ever want, their only obstacle seems to be finding enough time to spend
together.
When a scuffle at
Ryan’s hospital puts his life in danger, a colleague steps in to save him but
is critically injured in the process. In a heroic and unwavering effort, Ryan
manages to save her, but her injuries irrevocably change her life forever.
Though Julia’s
gratitude urges her to befriend the woman, she feels pushed aside when Ryan,
feeling indebted and laden with guilt, befriends the woman during her recovery.
Julia puts on a good front, but as time goes on her resolve vanishes as the
friendship begins to infiltrate what little time the couple has together and
she is reminded of how her own relationship with Ryan began.
In Ryan’s mind he
is doing nothing more than supporting a friend’s healing and is angry at
Julia’s apparent lack of trust, despite his attempts to console her. When
events get too much for her, a heartbroken Julia flees without telling her
husband her destination or even if she will return.
When grief pushes
him beyond what’s humanly possible and he is on the verge of losing his mind,
he is forced to decide how much he will pay for his new friendship and Julia,
what she is willing to endure in order to spare herself the unspeakable pain of
watching someone else try to replace her in Ryan’s heart.
Join Ryan and Julia
in the heart-wrenching conclusion to the unforgettable story of an incredible
love; worth every single sacrifice…
For there is
nothing more sacred than… A Love Like This…
My Interview With Kahlen :)
Tell
us a little about you : )
Well,
I’m single, I have one daughter and thee dogs. (All three, spoiled
rotten). I grew up in the Midwest
and attended an Ivy League university.
Writing sort of snuck up on me when I was marketing/networking for a
business venture and I absolutely hate talking about myself (if you can’t
already tell by this answer).
Which
actors do you see playing the main characters of this trilogy?
Wow,
that’s hard to say. Readers have
created a fan page for Ryan on Facebook and generally they put Brad Cooper,
Jensen Ackles or Channing Tatum in his role. It’s really hard to say whom I’d picture in my own
mind. It would depend on who was
the right age and who could be believable portraying so many extremes in
emotion.
So, is this the last we are ever going to read of
Ryan and Julia? (Just wondering)
Um, I’m sure I’ll do outtakes in the future. It’s been requested that I write their first 4 years, Ellie
& Harris’ , or Aaron & Jenna’s stories, too. It just depends on if I feel I can put together a plot that
I feel is good enough to tell a good story. Never say never, but it’s not planned right now.
Are you working on
anything now? If yes, what? :)
I’m always
working! I have another
book/series that is about ready to publish, but I’m struggling with whether to
make it into a series or just one really huge book. It’s called After Dark and the main characters are Alexander
(Alex) Avery and Angeline (Angel) Hemming. Then another that I know will be a series will follow After
Dark. Plus, I’m putting together
an anthology of short stories with 12 other authors to benefit The Amanda Todd
Legacy Foundation (100% of proceeds to support them) that we hope will publish
in October.
When
did you first realize that you wanted to become a writer?
When my readers told me that I was one. :)
Is
there a place you especially like to write?
I have a desk and hidey-hole
complete with music and my dogs at my feet. I write mostly there, but I do sometimes haul my laptop up
to my room and write in bed all night.
For
aspiring writers, do you have any advice for them?
Tell
your story and don’t let other’s convince you to make changes to it that you
know in your heart aren’t right.
Also, have complete faith in yourself and your readers… Take the leap, but
only when you truly feel your story is ready to be published.
Have
you read any books lately? Which ones?
Yes, I’m reading Jessica Sorenson,
Christina Lauren, Raine Miller, Madeline Sheehan and Kristen Ashley at the
moment. (I have a TBR list a mile
long).
Do
you have a favorite film(s)? What is it?
Wow.
I am a big movie buff and like so many different genres. I remember loving Lady Hawk when I was
a kid, Dead Again (awesome) and Jagged Edge (will scare the crap out of
you). Lately, I loved Man of Steel,
Iron Man (series), The Lucky One and in the past few years, Pride &
Prejudice, and Twilight Saga (of course).
Film
you are looking forward to see in theaters?
I just saw The Heat and Man of Steel last week. Loved them. I have to see Monster’s University because Monster’s Inc was
Olivia’s very first movie in a theater when she was 2.
Thank
you so much for taking the time to interview me.
XO
~Kahlen
